Following on from the below, we have received 4 nominations for our Parent Governor Vacancies. The next step in the process is for an election to take place, and this will happen on Friday 30th November.

On Friday 23rd November, each family will be given a ballot paper, via their child at school, and will have up until 9am on Friday 30th November to make their vote. The personal statements of the nominated parents will be made available on our website to allow parents to make their decision.

When advertising the vacancy, we confirmed that our LGB had recently completed a skills audit, and the LGB encouraged nominations from those with a Legal/HR/Risk Management/SEND background, however noted that applications from all backgrounds would be accepted.


The St Thomas More Catholic School Local Governing Body currently has 4 Vacancies (2 Foundation Governor Vacancies and 2 Parent Governor Vacancies).

A letter to all parents/guardians will be issued on Friday 2nd November with regards to the Parent Governor Vacancies. The deadline for nominations is 9am on Friday 16th November. If more nominations are received than there are vacancies, a ballot will take place. Parents/Guardians will be issued with a voting slip on Friday 23rd November, and votes will need to be cast by 9am on Friday 30th November.
