Keeping in Touch

Keeping in Touch

Keeping in touch with the school is really important for all our families.  There are basic tools that we encourage you to use to ensure you are up to date with your child’s experience at St Thomas More.

On a daily basis we ask that you use your child’s diary to record any non urgent messages and to keep track of the lessons they have and the homework they are set.  In addition to this the Arbor Parent app is a fantastic way of seeing all your child’s school information – from their timetable, their assessment data and their daily merits and / or red comments.

For families within our school community the main point of contact will always be the child’s Head of House or the Head of Sixth Form.  This is the person that knows each child individually and can therefore ensure a personal response.  Families are encouraged to use the House email system or call the school on 0191 499 0111.

Whole School Communication

  • Arbor App: All parents and carers need to download and use the Arbor app. This is the main way in which we will communicate with you and it is essential that you access this.
  • School Calendar: this is accessible on our school website and provides you with key dates of events throughout the year.
  • Weekly Head Teachers’ Letter: This provides you with an overview of events, activities and key messages from the week. This is published on a Friday on our school website & on social media.
  • Social Media: we know that social media is an accessible and positive way to see what is happening in school. We aim to share regular updates on a range of activities in school, lessons and outside of school. Celebrating the fabulous progress and contributions pupils make.
