School Meals

The catering department at St Thomas More Catholic School is a department that takes huge pride in providing quality food to staff, students and visitors. We have a large dedicated catering team that go out of their way to ensure all children are catered for. Our Chef Manager and two of our current team are former St Thomas More pupils, and several of the team have siblings who currently attend our School.

All menus have been designed with your child in mind; we receive feedback from the school council, staff and parents. Menus change every term and we are always looking for new, exciting and current ideas for the pupils. We offer gluten free options (upon request) and we are more than happy to assist in any other special dietary requirements.

Bistro

Bistro@STM Is the in-house catering brand we have created at St Thomas More Catholic School and we pride ourselves on FRESH, QUALITY & LOCAL ingredients.

What this means to your child:

• We only use quality prime cuts of British Meat.
• Suppliers are local to the North East.
• All fruit and veg are Grade A, fresh, and local when possible.
• Meals are prepared onsite by our trained catering team, using fresh, quality & local ingredients.

The Bistro is open for breakfast service from 7.30am – 8.45am daily (excluding Tuesdays).

During Lunch service we always provide the following options:

• Vintage Fayre – A delicious hot meal e.g. Roast Dinner, Lasagne, Fish & Chips etc.
• Veggie Harvest – A tasty vegetarian option e.g. Quorn Spaghetti Bolognese, Roasted Veg Risotto, Macaroni Cheese etc.
• Urban Eats – Hot snack options e.g. Burgers, Wraps, Tacos etc.
• Pasta Pantry – A fresh Pasta Bake option
• Sweet Treats – A tempting home made dessert

• Grab & Go Sandwiches, Salads & Fruit Pots
• Deli Sandwiches & Salads made to Order
• Paninis – Hot Filled Ciabattas
• Hot Jacket Potatoes with a choice of fillings
• A Selection of Home Made Cakes

SIX@STM

We have a Sixth Form coffee shop (SIX), this was a business studies project that was brought to life. We have been proudly serving Ringtons Barista style beverages to the Sixth Form students, staff and visitors since 2014.

POD@STM

The POD is a small catering unit situated on the school yard, providing an alternative to the Dining Hall. The Pod operates at morning break and lunch, serving a range of fresh, hot and cold snacks, meals and drinks.

Free School Meals

If you meet the eligibility criteria shown in the letter below, your child / children will be able to receive free school meals. Some people may worry that their child will be singled out for receiving free school meals; however, this is most definitely not the case. We use a cashless payment system in school so children’s privacy is guaranteed at all times.
