Our Sixth Form Team

Our dedicated Sixth Form team brings a wealth of experience in post-16 education and a clear understanding of how best to support students as they progress through Year 12, Year 13, and beyond.

The team is led by our Head of Sixth Form, who is supported by a Deputy Head of Sixth Form and a Sixth Form Support Officer. Our Support Officer is based in the Sixth Form Centre each day, providing an immediate point of contact for students. They offer both academic and pastoral support, ensuring that every student feels known, valued, and cared for.

Together, the team works closely to design and deliver our Sixth Form Wider Curriculum Programme, which includes careers education, advice, and guidance to help students plan their next steps after St Thomas More — whether that be university, an apprenticeship, or employment.

The Sixth Form team is further supported by our Sixth Form Tutors, who work with students on a daily basis to help them prepare for the day ahead, manage upcoming deadlines, and maintain a healthy balance between academic study and personal wellbeing.

While the tutor relationship in Sixth Form remains structured, it also becomes more flexible to reflect the growing independence of our students. This approach helps to nurture essential life skills such as organisation, time management, and self-discipline — key qualities for success in higher education and the workplace.
