The School Day

The School Day

Our school day is carefully structured to ensure every pupil begins with a positive and purposeful start. Each morning begins with tutor time — a vital opportunity for pupils to build strong, supportive relationships with their tutor and peers. During this time, pupils engage in a variety of activities linked to our Wider Curriculum, Reading Initiatives, Keeping Safe and Well strategy, and Assembly Programme. Pupils frequently comment on how much they value this calm and encouraging start to the day.

Following tutor time, the day is organised into five lessons, as outlined in the timetable below.

Twice a week, pupils also have the opportunity to attend our After-School Study Support sessions. These provide a welcoming environment where pupils can complete homework or revision with the guidance of a member of staff and make full use of the school’s IT facilities.

Timings are slightly different on a Friday, allowing for an earlier finish. We do this to support the wellbeing of both pupils and staff — and everyone enjoys starting their weekend just a little bit sooner!
