Safeguarding

Safeguarding

Keeping children and young people safe is at the centre of our work.  Our team works to create a culture of safeguarding across the school and within our community.  Each half term our families receive a letter from our Designated Safeguarding Lead where useful advice is shared linked to current safeguarding topics.

As part of our work to generate a culture of safeguarding in the school we have a whole school approach to wellbeing, the reporting of incidents and our #neverok campaign that encourages staff and students to be aware of all types of discrimination, and recognise that this is not OK, in any circumstances. Our systems provide a route for reporting any instance of discrimination that they either see, hear or are subjected to, so that it can be swiftly responded to.

How To Report a Concern

Students are encouraged to talk openly about any concerns they have with their pastoral tutor, their Head of House or any other member of staff they feel comfortable with.

Students can also utilise the Report an Incident link below or email neverok@stthomasmore.org.uk which are regularly monitored by our pastoral team.
Families within our community are encouraged to report any concerts to our pastoral team using the House email system or call the school on 0191 499 0111.
